Updated Location Shoot

These shots consists of where we filmed our short introduction of film, in this case will filmed under the genre horror and these shots are perfect for a horror sort of sketch, an abandoned cottage in the middle of nowhere which is a perfect scene to create suspence because the viewer knows that it's only you out there or a small group of people.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our media product is representing the typical teenage boy as all of our characters are around the 17-19 age range. The character's backgrounds are based upon typical things that teenagers do, for example, they don't have a lot of experience in the outside world, their only experience is from extra curricular activities which the majority of teenagers are introduced into that specific activity by their parents which suggests the teenagers haven't really experinced much in the outside world, their still relying on their parents. The characters dress sense is just like the typical teenage clothing, except for one who has come from a dinner date, the one thing a typical teenager dosen't normaly do on the hand, the other two, more typical characters are dressed in casual clothing, one having a music T-Shirt showing the characters personality more and one having a stereotypical dress sence of a teenager

What kind of media institution might distribute/produce your media product and why?

The media institution which is likely to distribute our film is an company called Univeral beacause they have distrubuted zombie films such as Dawn of The Dead and Land of The Dead which both films were a massive sucess.

Another media institution which could produce our film is an company called Hammer who have been producing horror films since the early 1930s. For example
The Public Life of Henry the Ninth which was produced in 1935 and to show their sheer brillance in the film industry their still producing horror films to this current day for example The Woman In Black which was produced in 2012.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? / What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I put these two questions together because during my progression from the preliminary task to the full product i feel technologies has been heavily envolved in the making of the product.

Technoligical convergence has been a major factor in the making of our media product for example this picture below has been instrumental throught out this course, years ago editing was unheard of you had one camera and that it.

Now a days you can have as many camera's as you want, film as long as you want and not worry about a single thing because if your camera runs out of battery you are now able to film an your mobile phone. This is all down to technoligical convergence. Therefore i learnt on just how vital technology is to us in this future day without i wouldn't even be writing this essay.

How did you attract/address your audience ?

Initially our idea was generated from watching variuos zombie clips for example the main clip which us attracted the most was... and from then on we based parts of are opening around that film. Then we thought about how to address the audience so we acted as if we were the target audience and all four of us gave feedback and after long dicussion we preffered to do horror. Following that we also did and questionnare (picture below) to confirm that we were going to create an horror opening, heavily persuaded to do this idea via the first two questions. So to attract our audience we filmed teenagers in their late teens so instantly that attracts the older range of teens because they can begin to relate towards your character and how they would react if they were in tht situation etc. We knew this idea would be an succes attracting the audience because of the questionare we did.

How would the audience for your media the audience for your media product?

Our target audience would attract the stereotypical audience varying between the older teenagers and the middle aged person because that stereotypically is the main audience that would watch our genre which is an gory horror. We have rated our media product an eighteen mainly because it contains very gory scenes, most zombie based films have an film classification of eighteen.

In what ways does you media product use, develop use or challenge forms and conventions of real products?

Our film uses an varied amount of typical conventions under the gory horror genre and being even more specific we wanted our film to have the same effect from many other zombie films for example The Evil Dead.

Like many other zombie film we used the technique of creating the effect of what's actually like inside of zombie mind for the beggining of our two minute opening clip. First of all we had to film the zombie walking so we simply just handheld the camera to create the wobbling and stumbling effect of a zombie. We also had an blodded arm to furfil the zombie effect even more.

Our Clip

Once this was completed we had to edit that particular scene, most importantly we had to change the lighting otherwise we would of failed at the first hurdle, it wouldn't of looked realistic if we left the lighting unchanged. So we changed the lighting to an reddish colour to create the scence of an blood thristy zombie. We also added an blur effect to this scene to create realism and portray how sluggish an zombie actually is.

Also in most films of any genre, especially horror, the main protagonists in our film have been introduced from the beginning of the film in our case very early on the opening two minute. This is another example of us using typical conventions.
